Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using UNAWAIN ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

UNAWAIN is an on-device document intelligence application that:

• Scans and extracts text from documents using your device's camera
• Records and transcribes audio using on-device speech recognition
• Imports and analyzes PDF, image, and document files
• Generates AI-powered summaries, notes, checklists, and data tables
• Translates content into Filipino, Cebuano, Ilocano, Pangasinan, Waray, and English
• Identifies document types, named entities, key figures, and sensitive information

All processing occurs entirely on your device. No data is transmitted to external servers.

3. Free Tier and In-App Purchase

Free Tier: The App provides 5 document analyses and 5 minutes of audio recording at no cost.

Lifetime Access: Unlimited usage is available as a one-time in-app purchase of PHP 199. This grants permanent access to all features with no recurring charges or subscriptions.

Refunds: In-app purchase refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policies. To request a refund, contact Apple Support or visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

4. AI-Generated Content

The App uses on-device AI models to generate summaries, translations, and analyses. You acknowledge that:

• AI output is not guaranteed to be accurate. Summaries, translations, and classifications may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
• The App is not a substitute for professional services. Do not rely on the App for legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
• Document classification is approximate. Automated detection of document types, entities, monetary amounts, and sensitive information may miss or misidentify content.
• Translation quality varies. Regional dialect translations are generated by machine translation models and may not reflect natural or idiomatic usage.

5. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create, scan, record, or import into the App. The App does not claim any rights to your documents, audio recordings, or analysis results.

Since all data stays on your device, you are solely responsible for backing up your content. Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all stored data.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to:

• Process content that violates applicable laws
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the AI models bundled with the App
• Redistribute the AI models downloaded by the App
• Misrepresent AI-generated summaries as human-written professional analysis

7. Third-Party AI Models

The App downloads and uses the following open-source AI models:

Your use of these models through the App is subject to their respective licenses. The models are used solely for on-device inference and are not modified or redistributed.

8. Intellectual Property

The UNAWAIN name, logo, Solihiya-inspired design elements, and application code are the intellectual property of Ralph Mattew Palomaria. The App's design draws inspiration from traditional Filipino weaving patterns (Solihiya) as a cultural homage.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

• The App will meet your specific requirements
• AI-generated summaries or translations will be accurate or complete
• The App will operate without interruption or error
• Document scanning or audio transcription will be error-free

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Reliance on AI-generated content
• Loss of data due to device failure or app uninstallation
• Inaccurate document classification or entity extraction
• Translation errors in any supported language

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
